Pledge 1: Help Plant 10,000 trees in January

Our parent site Green Christmas Appeal is in a competition to win a £10,000 business grant which will allow them to plant 10,000 trees this month. Will you vote for them to win the prize?

Pledge 2: Renewable Energy

Renewable energy is harnessed from natural sources like the wind, the sun and water, that don't pollute and don't contribute to climate change. If your home qualifies to be supplied by renewable energy at the same price as you currently pay you existing supplier will you pledge to switch to renewable?

The main human activities that contribute to global warming are the burning of fossil fuels (coal, oil, and natural gas) and the clearing of land. Most of the burning .... in electric power plants that provide energy for houses and office buildings.

In order to prevent the most severe effects of climate change we need to curb emissions of CO2 and other harmful gasses to levels well below that of today. Electricity generation from conventional sources is responsible for 30% of the UK's carbon emissions making it the single largest contributor

Pledge 3: Promote CO2 Reduction Through Renewable Energy

Once you have reduced your carbon footprint by the use of renewable energy, at the same price as you currently pay your electricity supplier, will you tell at least 5 friends/family about renewable energy and how they too can reduce their carbon footprint??
